Pastor Phillip Telfer

At the age of 17, Phillip Telfer surrendered his life to Christ and received a call into ministry. After graduating from high school he moved from Oregon to Chicago, Illinois, to serve in inner city missions working with a local church. Phillip was also a part of a summer program known as Chicago Outreach to help coordinate and lead various outreaches in Chicago. He also helped start a weekly outreach to skateboarders and was involved with street evangelism.

Phillip's ministry broadened as he began to write and share music which eventually led to a full time itinerate music ministry and 7 self-published recordings. Over the last 22 years He has shared his music in churches, coffeehouses, schools, camps, prisons and on the street.

Since his conversion he has had a passion for studying and teaching the Bible. Much of his Bible training has been through the Great Commission School of the Bible.

Pastor Phillip served as a youth and associate pastor in Illinois for almost 5 years prior to launching out in full-time itinerant ministry for several years with his family. In 2005 he founded the non-profit organization Media Talk 101 and wrote a book called "What Wouldn't Jesus Do? Media Choices in the Light of Following Christ." Through the clarion call platform of Media Talk 101, Phillip has ministered to youth and families over the last 20 years, sharing at camps, retreats, conferences, Christian schools and church services around the country, as well as guest teacher at MasterWorks Festival.

Most recently, Phillip has written and produced an award winning documentary called "Captivated" which addresses the impact of media in our culture and the growing need for discernment. To date, "Captivated" has been recognized as a dynamic vehicle for communicating this Christ-centered challenge, and has had the privilege of receiving awards from the following media platforms:

2013 Gold Crown Award for Best Documentary at the Intl. Christian Visual Media Conference
2013 Best Documentary at the GloryReelz Christian Film Festival
2013 Best Documentary at the Midwest Christian Inspirational Indie Film Festival
2012 Best Documentary Runner-Up at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival
2012 Best of Festival Finalist at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival

2014 marked the premier of the Media Talk 101-sponsored Christian Worldview Film Festival in San Antonio. Because of his involvement in the filmmaking community, Pastor Phillip and the Media Talk 101 team recognized the need for aspiring Christian filmmakers who had works already in the making, to have a Christian worldview platform in which to display and network with those who have acclaimed and accomplished works in production. Thus after much prayer and consultation, the Christian Worldview Film Festival was launched, and now offers workshops for beginning, intermediate, and more advanced filmmakers on a wide variety of disciplines like acting, auditioning, sound design, music scoring, editing, grip work, directing, marketing, fundraising, script writing, and much more.

Phillip Telfer has served in various pastoral roles over the years and is passionate about his family, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the family-integrated church model that so aptly conveys Christ's Gospel to this generation. A great match for Living Water Fellowship! We are a Christ-loving, family-integrated church, and privileged to have Pastor Phillip Telfer now serving as a co-pastor of Living Water Fellowship in Bulverde, Texas. One of Phillip's first pastoral assignments at Living Water was to spearhead another vehicle to equip future leaders in ministry, and thus with the co-labor of Dr. Daryl Rodriguez, Living Water School of Ministry was launched, and those classes can currently be accessed online.

Phillip and his wife, Mary, have been married for 24 years and have been blessed with 4 wonderful children.
