Invitation to Watje Family Fun International Cotillion

AN INVITATION TO YOU FROM THE WATJE FAMILY.....

Dear family, friends, fellow homeschoolers,

Join the Watje Family for some wholesome fun for everyone!

WHO: Anyone wanting to have tons of fun with family and friends!
WHAT: English Country and International Folk Dancing (includes Romanian, Israeli, Greek, Turkish, Balkan, German, French, etc.) No experience necessary!
WHEN: Sunday, March 3, 2013 @ 3:00-6:00pm
WHERE: Bracken Christian School Gym: 670 Old Boerne Rd., Bulverde, TX 78163

Have no clue what these dances are? Watch this video and see the fun you can expect to have! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SYLTqZapoQ. (If you see yourself in these dances, do not worry; this video is private and not in the public section that comes up in the search engine of YouTube.)

We are privileged to have acclaimed caller/instructor, Mr. Jimmy Drury, call the steps and you will catch on quickly. Even if you don’t, just keep on moving and everyone has fun! :o)

**PLEASE NOTE**
–A donation basket will be available for the caller, Jimmy Drury. (Suggested donation: $2.00 per individual or $5.00 per family.) This is a great time for everyone, and Jimmy does a great job. Let’s show our appreciation to him for blessing us all by teaching us these great dances!

–PLEASE BRING a finger food snack to share (no dessert please; we will have cake), and we will provide drinks. Feel free to bring munchies, or whatever you may need to refuel since this dancing is great exercise!

–CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS: If females wear a skirt or dress, it should be below the knees and modest, because of the kicking in a few of the dances (not high, but nevertheless). If you wear anything short or tight, your movement will be inhibited. Remember, Modesty is a Good Thing for everyone!

–Comfortable shoes are strongly suggested. Heels are not recommended since some dances are fast-paced. Leather soles that slide are best, but tennis shoes can work or anything comfortable. Bare feet are not recommended since dancing may entail getting stepped on.

–This is a family-friendly event, and all of the international dances are in circles so all ages, even toddlers can participate. It is a blast so come and have some fun! If dad doesn’t dance, he may be surprised and willing to try these! They are simple, easy to remember, and take no rhythm, so if you mess up, you just keep on going in the circle and no one notices. My computer-geek hubby said if he can do it, anyone can! We will have some English Country (Jane Austen style) dances which are more complicated, but you will still be taught and can catch on.

You all will have a great time! Please feel free to pass along this invitation to family and friends, so we can have a great turnout!

It will be great to see yall!!
